About Us

Pinehurst Place is located in the serene environment of the White River Country Estate, situated just six kilometres away from the country town of White River. The self-catering units were created and designed by Penny Robinson, owner & manager of Pinehurst Place, with the assistance of her husband, Tony, who established the interior decorating business, Anthony J Interiors, in 1979. With 40 extremely successful years (and counting) in the interior decorating industry, Penny had plenty of inspiration and set to task to design and create four completely unique and beautiful apartments for guests from all over the world to enjoy.

Originally from Germiston in Gauteng, Tony & Penny made the decision to move from the hustle and bustle of city life to the more relaxed pace of the ‘Slowveld’ – White River, Mpumalanga. This was 2003, the same year that Pinehurst Place was established. Starting off with just two apartments, due to the growing success and demand, a further two apartments were created to form the existing four apartments we have today. Expansion continued due to demand, and they now have chalets on Greenway for the convenience of their many established and happy clients.  For Penny, with a great passion and love of interacting with people – going into hospitality was a given.

As an avid golfer, moving into the highly secure location of the White River Country Estate was destined, as the Estate boasts a championship 18-hole golf course, spread across the estate amongst the beautiful lush greenery. Another perk of living in the Lowveld is the close proximity to the Kruger National Park, Graskop and many historic and scenic places of interest in the vicinity.
